Jamtara (8bit trailer)

The assignment of this college project was to recreate a trailer of a web series in a particular art-style. This is a pixel art project inspired by Indian web series ‘Jamtara'.

Plot of the series:
Modern India is now facing a modern problem, as pickpocketing is also going modern & digital wallets are in grave danger. The series tells the story of young and ambitious people, who run a successful phishing scam from Jamtara, which was once called as India’s phishing capital and also known as the call con centre of India. The whole story is a rollercoaster ride of ambitions, rebel, lust, politics & crime which may or may not lead to the ‘game over’.

Inspiration:
Judging that the whole storyline is a risky game which characters are trying to pull, I found the plot of 'Jamtara' as a one risky gamble. That’s why I have decided to give an arcade game- pixel art touch. Getting inspired by the popular pixel art game Mario I have tried to imagine nameplates, slot machines, guns & rupees everything in an Indian-Desi touch.
