The cup ride: a dementia awareness story
A project I created for this academic year, involves a storyboard from the scene of the story revolving around dementia awareness. The story revolves around the two characters- The grandfather & granddaughter. The two characters visit the fair; the granddaughter suggests taking the ‘teacup ride’. They take that ride and start chatting. They start talking about her usual school life. The grandpa starts the asking the question ‘When is your school starting?’ He asks the same question again & again. The granddaughter gets confused. Then they sit on a bench. When granddaughter comes back after buying the ice cream. But then grandfather is not there. The granddaughter finds the grandpa who has lost the way on the same teacup ride again. This implies that like the ‘teacup ride’ which revolves round and round, a patient with dementia can be stuck in limbo.
